Dr Neil is a very caring and understanding therapist. He has many years of experience in supporting clients to reach their goals. With compassion and warmth, Dr Neil works collaboratively with clients to help them feel better and learn new strategies and skills to thrive.
Dr Neil believes in the importance of using therapy that is practical and evidence based. In other words, Dr Neil uses therapy that is recommended by NICE guidelines for each particular difficulty. He undertakes an assessment and tailors the specific therapy to clients needs; to help clients reach their goals.
Passionate about delivering the best quality therapy, Dr Neil uses approaches such as formations to plan out a clients difficulty (what started it, what is maintaining and how to get out of it). This approach means Dr Neil is fully transparent in passing on a comprehensive understanding of what is happening, enabling a practical plan to be developed together – focused towards recovery.
Dr Neil draws on many different types of therapy such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness Based approaches.
