Dr Amy is a warm and compassionate psychologist with over 15 years experience, working with people across the lifespan with a range of issues and difficulties. She recently held the position of Principal clinical psychologist within local NHS services, and is now dedicating her time to private practice and teaching psychologists in training.
- Dr Amy is passionate about supporting people in navigating the challenges that life can present, and considers it a privilege to accompany people on their journey of increased understanding, personal growth and positive change.
- She draws upon a range of therapeutic models and approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT).
- Therapy is always tailored to your individual preferences, difficulties, needs and goals.
- Specialises in working with individuals aged 16+. Dr Amy also offers appointments to children and young people for whom emotional difficulties are related to a physical health problem.
- Dr Amy has a particular interest in physical health difficulties and the relationship between our physical and emotional wellbeing. She has worked in a number of physical health psychology services, including those for people with persistent pain, chronic fatigue/ME, gastrointestinal problems, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, burns and cancer.
